As well as 3 pubs in Newton (The Dolphin) and Noss (The Swan Inn and the more expensive 'The Ship'); there are more pubs in the South Hams; eg Modbury, Holbeton, Yealmpton (I can send you a link for the full details of the prestigious award winning Rose & Crown in Yealmpton). At the mouth of the Yealm is the Mewstone - a huge rocky grassy outcrop, sharply sloping to seaward. It helps to break up the force of the sea, thus giving protection for boats entering the Yealm harbour, affording safe anchorage and moorings, the whole administered by the River Yealm Harbour Authority.
