  Please note: for the most accurate location DIRECTIONS please enter the Postcode PL8 1DX but do beware of Satnav diversions - you need to keep SOUTH of the A38. At Yealmpton Texaco Service Station take left fork SOUTH to the B3186 to Noss Mayo

Sitting right beside the shoreline [tidal] this one bedroom red brick and stone cottage has 2 private parking spaces and a small private quay (no boat supplied, but small rowing dinghies can be hired locally). Really wonderful views of the Yealm Estuary. Huge westward window stretching around 2 walls and 2 side windows, all overlooking the estuary. Sheer peace and tranquillity within a wonderful AONB.  NB:The exterior areas of No 9 have no street lighting so best to bring a large hand spotlight if arriving after dusk.   The Swan Inn is about half a mile further along and down Pillory Hill at PL8 1EE. 

The cottage is furbished and equipped to sleep two adults (King size bed) for the rental tariff quoted but an additional 1 or 2 adults and /or 1 or 2 children under twelve can be accommodated [using the double sofa bed OR 2 single chairbeds. The additional charges are £80 per adult or £50 per child. The maximum number of persons permitted is 4 in total. As an example, 2 adults plus one child aged 12 and one aged 16 would be £ rent tariff plus £130 additional charge. 2 adults + 2 adults (add £160) OR 2 adults plus 2 children (add £100) - just add the relevant extra numbers in the online booking Entry - the computer will automatically calculate it for you. Towels are included for 2 adults (but NOT beach towels) Children are from 2 to 12 years.  Aults are from 12 years. Using any sofa bed(s) without first booking or arranging it is not permitted and if used when not booked will result in a charge to cover the extra wear and tear and/or actual damage and extra work involved for the housekeeper who will charge for any resulting extra time/work. When properly booked mattress covers, pillow protectors, full bedding and linen are included.   

2 Adults in ONE SEPARATE BEDROOM [with small digital TV and a radio] which has a glazed door leading directly onto the quay that has a mooring ring for a dinghy.  There are stone steps which lead down into the tidal water, if you have a dog please do dry it off before bringing it into the bedroom!  Also for safety and security this door must be kept locked when the quay is not in use, especially if you have any children inside with you. Large built-in wardrobe. KING size bed. Telephone extension. Binoculars are included on the Inventory as is the hair dryer.

The Main Household Manual is in the roll-top desk. 

2 BLUE/WHITE STRIPED CANVAS SEATS for the little patio must be brought inside when not in use please!!

Separate fully fitted BATHROOM with shower over bath, just outside which are the washing machine and tumble dryer behind a hall door. A hall storage cupboard with space to hang wet clothes.

MAIN LIVING ROOM - comfortable new suite April 2011, comprising one large double sofa/bed plus 2 matching single 'Snuggler' chairbeds, linen (plus towels for 2 adults are provided but not beach towels.  26"Digital Colour TV, DVD player, CD player, separate music centre. DVDs are not supplied but can be hired locally eg:both Texaco Service Station and Yealmpton Village Off-Licence, open until 8pm Mon to Sat and from 8am until 1pm on Sundays. 

Cottage Telephone ONLY allows local and Emergency calls. All other numbers are barred

 WIFI BT Hub is Free; Password on Base of Hub  

 The KITCHEN is fully equipped including a dishwasher, small fridge, separate small freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, food mixer, coffee maker etc etc. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cookware. Full size Belling 335 solid hob double oven/grill electric cooker. Owner's Household Manual(kept in bedroom desk). PLEASE READ the owner's hints & instructions: eg the dishwasher does NOT need salt! 

Hot water is heated by off-peak electricity with daytime booster if needed. The cottage is heated by wall panels with thermostatic controls. ELECTRICITY is included up to the end of October but the limit is £20 per week November to Easter. Bedding, bed linen (+towels for 2 adults only) included, but NOT beach towels. Excessive soiling of linens (body tans, mud etc) causing extra laundry costs due to foodstains, muddy shoes, make up or outdoor use will be charged.
